Jacques-Philippe Gunther is a partner in the Antitrust and Competition Practice Group of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in Paris and Brussels, where he heads the firm’s European competition and antitrust practice. Jacques-Philippe is widely recognized as one of Europe’s leading competition law specialists by the French and European antitrust authorities. Jacques-Philippe is known for his expertise advising clients on European and national merger filings and in complex disputes before the European Commission, French antitrust authorities, French Courts and the European Court of Justice on cartel and abuse of dominant position cases. Jacques-Philippe is a former president of the F.N.U.JA (Fédération des Unions de Jeunes Avocats, Federation of the Union of Young Lawyers) and is a member of the A.F.E.C. (Association Française d'Etude de la Concurrence, French Association of antitrust). He is also a former member of the Board of the National Council of the Bars (C.N.B.). Prior to joining Willkie, Jacques-Philippe led the antitrust and competition practice that he started in the Paris office of Freshfields Bruckhaus in 1999. Prior to Freshfields, he was a partner with Gide Loyrette Nouel (Paris and Brussels), where he began his career.Education
