Loretta A. Ippolito is a partner in the Private Clients Group of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in New York, and serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. Ms. Ippolito’s practice involves all aspects of estate planning and administration, with extensive experience providing comprehensive estate, gift and income tax advice for high net worth individuals and multinational families.

Ms. Ippolito advises clients on domestic and international estate planning, including tax and foreign trust planning for non-U.S. persons with U.S. contacts, the effective use of gift-giving programs, domestic trust planning, the tax-efficient transfer of closely held family business interests, liquidity issues, and management succession. Ms. Ippolito also renders advice relating to charitable giving, including the disposition of appreciated property, the use of private foundations, and charitable split-interest trusts. Her practice encompasses all phases of estate administration including tax audits and post-death planning.

Ms. Ippolito was honored as the "Up & Coming Wealth Management Lawyer of the Year" at the 2012 Chambers USA Women in Law Awards, and is ranked nationally in this category (Eastern Region) by Chambers USA (2011).

Selected Professional and Business Activities
Ms. Ippolito is a member of the Trusts and Estates Law Section and the International Estate Planning Committee of the New York State Bar Association, and the U.K.-based Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Committee on Trusts & Estates of the New York Women’s Bar Association, and is a member of the Trusts, Estates & Surrogate's Courts Committee and former member of the Committee on Estate and Gift Taxation of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

Ms. Ippolito serves on the Board of Directors of the Joseph Collins Foundation and the Bernard and Irene Schwartz Foundation, and is a former Director of the New York Women’s Bar Association, the Harvard Law School Association of New York City, and the Lawyer's Alliance for New York. 

Ms. Ippolito is the author of  "What Price Expatriation?" published in the July 2003 edition of Trusts & Estates and "The New Price of Expatriation" published in the December 2004 edition of Trusts & Estates.
