Pamela S. Strauss is special counsel in the Communications, Media & Privacy Department of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in Washington, D.C. Ms. Strauss focuses on cable television, broadcast radio and television, data privacy, and e-commerce.

Ms. Strauss has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts for distribution of video programming content on cable television, satellite television, mobile phones, the Internet, and via other distribution technologies. Her experience in this area, in particular, is with linear programming networks, video-on-demand content, HDTV, and interactive programming content. Her commercial contract experience also involves content acquisition, content licensing, and contracts for on-air talent. She also advises video programming clients on Federal Communications Commission regulatory matters.

Ms. Strauss advises a radio broadcaster on FCC compliance as well as on legislative and FCC regulatory matters, and has experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts for broadcast syndication of radio and television content. She also advises clients on compliance with data privacy laws in the U.S. and abroad, including drafting privacy policies.

Additionally, Ms. Strauss advises clients who conduct business on the Internet on related legal issues, including advising on electronic signatures and drafting terms of service. She also advises clients on issues relating to online content and e-mail marketing. Her experience includes drafting and negotiating Web site design and hosting agreements as well as content, co-branding, and advertising agreements. Her clients have included media and publishing entities.

Ms. Strauss is a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA) and Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT). She currently serves as Chair of Willkie’s D.C. Women's Initiative Committee.

Prior Experience
Ms. Strauss previously served as a judicial law clerk to U.S. Magistrate Judge Tommy Miller in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Norfolk.
