William H. Rooney is a partner in the Litigation Department and Chair of the Antitrust Practice Group of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in New York, where he specializes in civil and criminal antitrust matters before the federal courts and the antitrust enforcement agencies.

Mr. Rooney's antitrust experience includes litigations, mergers, investigations, and counseling in matters under the Sherman Act (contracts in restraint of trade and monopolization), the Clayton Act (mergers and acquisitions), and state antitrust and deceptive trade practice laws.  Mr. Rooney appears regularly in federal court and before the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission in connection with antitrust investigations and substantial acquisitions.

Mr. Rooney is the Chair of the Antitrust Section of the New York State Bar Association and is the Vice-Chair of the Economics Committee of the Section of Antitrust Law of the American Bar Association. He is a past Chair of the Committee on Antitrust and Trade Regulation of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York (2001 to 2004).
