Frankfurt Office Advises E.N.O Energy on Latest Wind Farm Sale

Dr. Andreas Hautkappe

It was recently announced that Willkie client e.n.o. energy has sold a wind farm in Plauerhagen, Germany to MVV Energie AG. With a total capacity of 16 mega watts, this is one of the first wind farms that is solely comprised of e.n.o.-manufactured 82-2.0 wind turbines. Based in the Baltic coastal resort of Rerik, e.n.o. energy builds, finances and manages wind turbines for the European market. With more than 6000 employees, MVV Energie AG is a listed group of local utility providers and one of the largest German energy providers. The transaction represents MVV Energie’s first step into the growing wind energy sector. The company has allocated €3 billion over the next ten years to be invested in renewable energies, with half intended for investments in growth sectors.

Willkie assisted e.n.o in several wind farm portfolio transactions in 2009. The current deal was handled by national partner Dr. Andreas Hautkappe, and associates Ingo Bednarz, and Dr. Stephanie Schmidt-Ehemann.
